Virtual staging guide
Virtual staging for short-let and Airbnb photos
Short-let guests book the photograph and arrive at the room. Staging that adds furniture the property does not contain generates complaints and refunds, so the job here is atmosphere — light, texture, layout — rather than a full furniture set.
Atmosphere over inventory
- Add textiles, lighting and one plant rather than a sofa the guest will not find.
- Keep the bed and seating true to what is provided; guests compare the photo to the room on arrival.
- Use the host's real palette if the listing has one, so the photos look like the same flat.
What converts on short-let platforms
- A clear hero shot of the sleeping area, made but not over-dressed.
- A workspace or table in frame if the listing claims one.
- Daylight in every image; short-let thumbnails are all judged at the same small size.
Where it fails
- Staging a room that is obviously shared or cramped as if it were a private suite.
- Implying a view or a balcony that the property does not have — the review will say so.
- Adding furniture that blocks the route guests need with luggage.

Staging keeps the walls, windows and camera angle of your photograph; only the furnishing is added. Upload the room and the frame comes back at the resolution you sent.
