Virtual staging for empty rooms, run as a small independent product rather than a full-service agency.

Who runs it

Virtual Stage Now is built and maintained by Shangyi Duan, an independent developer. The site, the staging pipeline and the written guides live in one codebase; a staged frame is produced by the pipeline, not by a human design team.

Why it exists

Most listing photos are shot empty, and an empty room is hard to read on a phone screen. Physical staging solves that, but it costs furniture rental, delivery, install and removal, and it only pays back on listings where the viewing itself has to sell. This site exists to furnish the photograph instead: upload one empty-room photo, choose a style and a room, and get the same room back with furniture added, at the resolution you uploaded. The promise on the homepage is narrow on purpose — the walls, windows and camera angle stay exactly where they were photographed.

How the pipeline works

Each upload is checked for format and size (JPG, PNG or WebP, 2 KB to 8 MB), then the room and style are checked against a fixed list: six rooms — living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, home office and outdoor — and six styles — warm modern, Scandinavian, mid-century, industrial, coastal and minimal. The Worker builds a prompt that keeps the architecture in place and forwards the photo to the configured staging endpoint; the delivered frame comes back at the upload's resolution. One credit is one delivered image, and the plans include 20, 100 or 300 images a month at $15, $49 and $99 ($0.75, $0.49 and $0.33 per image). Unused plan images carry over, up to one month’s allowance, and a failed generation does not spend one. The full sequence, with the code names and the sources, is on /methodology.

What this site is not

It is not a brokerage, an MLS, a law firm or a staging company, and it has no affiliation with any MLS or listing portal. It does not remove furniture, declutter an occupied room, produce 3D or 360 tours, or send a human designer to review a frame. Furniture placement in a delivered image is a suggestion: check walkways, scale and fixtures against the real room before publishing. The site does not give legal advice; the disclosure pages summarise the rules published by the MLSs and by California, and a broker or lawyer decides how they apply to a listing.

Billing runs through Dodo Payments as merchant of record. If you have not used your credits, you can request a full refund of unused credits within 30 days of purchase — the terms are in the refund section of the terms. Failed or refused generations are returned to your balance automatically.

Corrections and contact

If a page here is wrong, the date on the page and the source link are there so you can see what was read. Report it through /corrections, or email billing@virtualstagenow.com with the page and the source; the corrections log records what changed, and dated site changes are on the changelog.
