What changed, and when

Photo rules move, and a page without a date cannot tell you whether it is describing this year's rule or last year's. These are the changes we verified, newest first, with the document each one came from.

What is not on this list

Boards we could not read from a primary source: Bright MLS, MIAMI REALTORS, NWMLS, HAR and UtahRealEstate. Their rules sit behind a member login or would not load, so they are absent from this log rather than guessed at. When one of them is readable, it gets an entry with the same fields.

A change is logged only when we can point at the document that changed. A vendor blog saying “rules are tightening” is not a change.

How often this is rechecked

Why two dates

A rule can change without its page changing. The log records when a board changed a rule; the board page records when we last read it. When the two disagree, the log is the newer fact.

Every board page carries the date it was checked, and the five boards in the rule list are reread each quarter. California statute changes are checked against the chaptered bill text rather than a summary.

The method behind the log.
