Virtual Staging for Vacant Homes

An empty room loses its scale in a photo. Without a bed, buyers can't tell whether a 11×12 bedroom fits a queen. Without a dining table, the open-plan area reads as a hallway. Furniture gives the eye a ruler.

Where vacant homes come from, and what each needs

  • Estates. Family wants it sold, nobody wants to pay a stager for three months. Stage the living room, primary bedroom and kitchen.
  • Relocations. The sellers have already left town, so stage the photos remotely from the listing photographer's files.
  • Investor flips. The new floors and paint deserve furniture that shows them off. Minimal or Scandinavian keeps attention on the finishes.
  • New-to-market rentals turned sales. Stage the bedrooms so the room count reads clearly.

Shooting a vacant room so it stages well

Shoot from a corner at waist height in daylight, with the full floor and ceiling line visible and both side walls in frame. Empty floors give the model fewer anchors, so a wider frame makes better furniture placement.

What stays exactly as photographed

The window reveal, radiators, door swing, built-ins, ceiling line and the view outside. All of it stays exactly where you photographed it; only furniture is added.

Stage a room

FAQ

How many rooms should I stage in a vacant home?

The ones buyers decide on: living room, primary bedroom, dining area. Leave bathrooms and hallways as photographed.

Does it work on carpet and on hardwood?

Yes. The floor stays as shot, and the furniture is placed on it.

Can I stage the backyard or patio?

Yes. Outdoor is one of the six room types.

What resolution do I get?

About 1,200 px on the long side, which matches MLS and portal display sizes.

What if a generation fails?

It doesn't spend a credit. Credits are only used when an image is delivered.
