Kitchen Virtual Staging

A kitchen is already mostly built-in. What it lacks in a vacant listing is life: bar stools at the island, a table in the breakfast nook, something on the counter. That's what staging adds, and nothing else.

What staging adds to a kitchen, and what it leaves alone

  • Adds: counter stools, a dining table in an eat-in area, rugs, light counter styling.
  • Leaves alone: cabinets, countertops, backsplash, appliances, the window over the sink.

That line matters. Changing the cabinet colour is a renovation render, not staging, and it misrepresents the house.

Get the eat-in area right

Buyers with kids look for where breakfast happens. Stage the nook or the dining end of an open-plan kitchen with a table for four, so the frame answers "where do we eat?"

Shooting tips specific to kitchens

Shoot across the island toward the window from the opposite corner, with the floor visible under the island overhang. Galley kitchens with almost no floor stage poorly. Feature the adjoining nook instead.

Stage a room

FAQ

Will it change my cabinets or counters?

No. Only furniture and styling are added. Cabinets, counters, backsplash and appliances stay as photographed.

Does a galley kitchen stage well?

Narrow galleys have little floor to place furniture on. Stage the eat-in area or adjoining dining room instead.

Can I stage an open-plan kitchen-living space in one frame?

Yes. Choose the room type that dominates the frame. Living room works well for open plan shot from the lounge side.

Which style suits a remodelled kitchen?

Minimal or Scandinavian keeps attention on new finishes. Industrial suits concrete and open-shelving kitchens.

Is a staged kitchen allowed on the MLS?

Use the "Virtually staged" labelled version and your MLS's disclosure field.
