Doorify MLS: no staging disclosure is required
Not every board wants a label. Doorify says in writing that it does not require disclosure of virtually staged photos, which makes it the clearest test of whether a compliance page is telling you the rules or selling you something.
The rule, quoted
We do not currently require disclosure of Digitally Enhanced or Virtually Staged photos. However, we do require that photo enhancements or staging must not misrepresent the true state of the property.

What that changes, and what it does not
You do not have to
- Add a “Virtually Staged” label to the photo.
- Put a staging sentence in the remarks.
- Upload the original frame beside the staged one.
You still cannot
- Change the wall colour.
- Remove a fixture, with a fire hydrant given as the example.
- Change the flooring.
- Enhance landscaping beyond its current condition.
Why we publish a page that says “nothing required”
Because a page that says every board requires a label is useful to the company selling the label, and not to the agent in Raleigh. Doorify and OneKey are the two boards in our set where the honest answer is that the staging rulebook is silent or permissive, and a rule library that leaves them out is a sales document.
Doorify reserves the right to reject or remove non-compliant media under its rules.
Questions
Do I need to disclose anyway?
The board does not require it. If the same listing also goes to a board that does, that board’s rule applies to its copy of the listing.
Is virtual staging allowed at all?
Yes. What is banned is an enhancement that misrepresents the property, not the staging itself.
Can I change the grass?
Not beyond the current condition of the landscaping. That is one of the examples the guidelines give.
